John Hardy

The early John Hardy pieces grew out of four traditional Balinese jewelry-making techniques: rantai (woven chain); tenun (woven mesh); jawan (granulation); and ukiran (cut work).

Master jeweler Werner Bellezer developed superbly engineered clasps and introduced modern technical solutions to make the jewelry more comfortable and durable.

In 1990 Head Designer Guy Bedarida joined the firm to develop the Bali design studio, bringing the traditions of haute joaillerie and introducing the techniques of fine jewelry illustrations. He works with a team of highly skilled craftsmen, from illustrators to wax-carvers and silver and goldsmiths. Artisans in Thailand, experts in the art of gemstone cutting and setting, also bring the knowledge of generations to the making of John Hardy jewelry.

At John Hardy, design creativity flourishes and evolves in this partnership.
